Andean Textile Collection
The production of clothing and textiles in the Andes region is a traditional activity and part of its cultural heritage. From the alpaca, whose spun wool fibers have been used since the time of the Incas, to the more recent introduction of Pima cotton, textiles from South America have a lasting history and are famous for their high-quality and fine fibers. Thousands of families throughout the highlands are supported by the textile industry, from raising alpacas, producing fibers, knitting and weaving, to selling finished products in the local and international markets.

The Andean Textile Collection is a project created to support these small textile workshops and to empower artisans and their communities. Through assistance in the supply of raw materials, increased production, and improved technologies, artisans are able to further develop their offerings and achieve high-quality international standards.
