"My desire to preserve Mexican silversmith traditions inspired me to showcase filigree techniques in my designs. I've worked with artisans throughout many states in Mexico, and during our time together I've gotten to know their great heart and their lively and talented soul, all of which comes through in the work they do with their hands.

"I have fallen in love with several artistic traditions which I have incorporated into my designs, but the one that has captivated me the most is filigree.

"One of the reasons that sparked by interest in filigree is that it's an art form in danger of extinction. Globalization has had an influence on the disappearance of authentic artisanal manifestations and their replacement with mass produced, cheap products that are fleetingly fashionable. That's what's happened to filigree - there are fewer artisans who want to make it, and people sometimes do not value this manifestation of our culture.

"My inspiration comes from our traditional symbols such as the sun, flowers, the heart, and the moon amongst others.

"Hopefully one day I'll have the resources to craft so many of these lovely pieces and so open doors for the world to get to know all the beautiful things that are crafted in Mexico.

"My decision to specialize in jewelry with a Mexican identity wasn't altogether my own. It was the result of my love, admiration and respect for my culture. I was born with it. I have it in my genes - it comes from my parents.

"The challenge is to create new filigree designs without leaving behind cultural significance and tradition. My work includes a dose of nostalgia. I wish to rescue our roots and at the same time go beyond them. I want to reach a sense of abstraction that manifests human symbolism.

"To me this means always being attentive through life's path. I imagine the subtlety of filigree, flowers and hearts? is this not an expression of love?

"Arts and handcrafts are live elements of culture. I know that movement is intrinsic to life, so therefore who knows where this creative act can take me? I let things happen because I know it's good for everyone. Life will take it upon itself to direct these projects."
