Teresa Gonzalez
?Hello, I am Teresa Gonzalez. I have always been surrounded by silver, so inevitably I had to be an industrial and jewelry designer by inheritance and vocation. I was born in Taxco Guerrero, the cradle of artisan silver jewelry. Since I was a child, I played and created jewelry with plasticine, paper and clay. I took my first studies in jewelry and photography when I was 15 years old. Since then I studied silverwork and plastic arts courses, until at university I completed the Bachelor of Industrial Design, then a specialty of Jewelry Design in Florence, Italy. Creating and designing jewelry has been part of me since childhood.

?Each part of the elaboration process is fundamental. Starting with the sketch, like a blank sheet it gives me the opportunity to start something new until it materializes. Finally seeing the first piece of an entire collection finished is a great satisfaction for me, and a challenge that invites me to innovate more techniques that can be applied to silver. For the most part, recycled silver is my main material, with total quality and purity. Working with silver has a certain degree of complexity, but that is its added value since, being a completely handmade work, it is recognized as an art.

?I like to play with new ideas and concepts. I always have a pencil and paper with me. I like to observe, mainly to appreciate the infinity of details that nature, the earth and what surrounds us offers. From there, I visualized the design; this gives me wide inspiration and what characterizes my designs.

?Being self-employed has brought great satisfactions; one of them is giving women the opportunity to work. The creative part is on my own, and together with my sister, who is in charge of the administrative part, we form a great team.

I want to continue in this line of innovation, with the unique identity of my designs, so that the tourists that visit Taxco can identify it in my creations.?
