Ganesha Lord of Knowledge

Lord Ganesha travels on his mystical mount, a mouse, in this admirable statuette from Dayal J. Daryanani. According to Hindu lore, the mouse represents the intellect which is able to slip unobserved or without our conscious knowledge into places which not thought possible to penetrate, that is why it is a servant of Ganesha, Lord of Knowledge, who does in fact control it. The statuette is carved of kadam wood with admirable detail.
